Its the holiday season!

December craziness, the holidays, the shopping, the snow!!  Not to mention having our roof replaced - I feel sorry for the guys who have to be up there - my son needing his wisdom teeth out, tearing up the master bedroom of the house....... thank gawd my studio will remain intact and I will have somewhere to hide out!

I have been busy making holiday cards too.  I recently got the lace tree folder for the cuttlebug which makes the cards a snap.  That and my MS branch punch have been figuring prominently this year.

If you haven't already finished your christmas list, I'd like to suggest a product that I think should be on it.  Its called the Glue Glider.  I became aware of this tool through Sharon's blog which if you've never visited, is a "must see"!  I have coffee with her every morning.  Currently she is celebrating on her blog with some awesome blog candy, check that out if you have a minute!

Back to the Glue Glider........
I have been on the look out for an adhesive solution.  I love using 3M double sided tape, but was spending a small fortune buying the rolls.  I also really like the red liner tape, but again could never get enough tape for the money I was spending.  Then Sharon posted about the Glue Glider.  I had been considering getting the ATG gun, but they are expensive and as I understand they are cumbersome to re-load.  I decided to try the Glue Glider.
From my research I found it would be inexpensive to purchase, easy to re-load and the cartridges come with plenty of tape 65 feet actually, for $6.75!  So I bought myself one.  I found the best price for me at Stampin Scrapin so I got the gun and two replacement cartridges.  When it arrived I was thrilled to find out that it is all I hoped it would be - lightweight, easy to use, great adhesive and won't take up much space on my table!
I'll get off the soapbox now.  Check this out and see for yourself.

random musings

Oh man, its been too long since I've updated!
I have thought about it everyday, but just not gotten around to it.
What have I been up to?  Just life itself.  Working on my cards and trying to market them & myself as a designer.  My sister got me into Facebook and that has proven to just suck the time away from me - seriously its an addiction!

so, I have been making cards too!  This is one of my recent favorites.  I don't remember who the alphabet is by, but its a clear set which makes it really easy to work with.

end of summer........

Here we are at the start of Labor Day weekend.  How did the summer slip by so fast?!  I am sorry to say that I have accomplished little of what I had told myself I would do this summer - but have accomplished other things that I hadn't even thought of.  Isn't that just the way it goes?!
I hope you have some wonderful, relaxing plans for the holiday weekend.  I am going up to the M's cabin with DH & DS where we will surely relax and have a great time.
Remember to enjoy those moments - each and every one.  Time slips away.......

missing mojo

I seem to be missing my mojo today - have you seen it?
I have sat down several times to work on projects and am feeling just scattered.  I guess thats what a few days away from the studio does to me.  I am being chill about it though, not pushing myself.  I hope that helps!
here is a card that I made previously and sent to my sister for her anniversary.  I am really liking this particular stamp from Hero Arts, I find there is a lot to do with it.
I am off to run some errands, maybe some fresh air & sunshine will bring my mojo back...........

a wonderful life

if only it weren't always this simple......a beautiful day, a hammock in the sun.
I am fortunate enough to be spending a couple days at my friends cabin (again) and really - this is what the life is like here.  Simple, easy, relaxed, fun.
my great thanks to the M family for letting me share, you guys are the greatest!

bad blogger!

Sorry, I should be better about updating.......
here is a more springy image than my last one.
who wouldn't love to have a big basket of tulips like this?
the weather is coming around here for us, as always it is a slow but well worth it process.
I have to get out walking again.  I quit for the winter cause of the darkness and the ice on the paths, but its time now to get back at it.  It is such good therapy for me.
enjoy your weekend!

spring?

well, I guess we've all been wishing a little too hard for spring to be here and mother nature decided to show us just who is in
charge.  this is the view out my studio window this morning
Ugh.  I am so done already!

on a more cheerful note, I thought I'd share a picture of my new ribbon storage.  I found these at M's last weekend.  They are about $10 (U.S.) each, but I had a 50% off coupon.  I am really happy with them!  They are acrylic and can be stacked and attached side by side.

Monday, Monday

Today I came across a new blog I must share with you PresentPast Collection.  I love shabby chic and vintage.  it reminds me of being at my grandmas house in Plum City - very comforting.
along those lines, here is a picture of a "little display" I  have in my house.  I found the old suitcases at a little store and the old hatbox at an antique center near where I live, after that it just kinda fell together.
I'll change it out through the summer and fall and maybe christmas too - who knows?!
and Lynn - here is a thought of spring for you :)

nice weekend

I love the weekends where I have no real plans and get to do pretty much whatever I want (as opposed to the weekends where I am traveling or running lots of errands).
this weekend was one of the "all mine" kind. I spent the bulk of it in my "studio" paper crafting and when I wasn't there I was doing other relaxed stuff.
Hubby and I went on a little road trip on Saturday to a neighboring town and wandered in an antique store. I love doing that, I love to see the old things that have come so far, I like to wonder about the places they've been. The sad part is that there are things - in the antique stores - that I recognize from my childhood, and its not the stuff I remember at my Grandma's house!
anyway.......I haven't figured out the whole posting of pictures thing yet, but I want to.......I'll get after that soon. Since I can't leave you with a picture - I'll leave you with something to think about:

It's the good girls who keep the diaries, the bad girls never have the time. -- Tallulah Bankhead

make it a great day!
