its beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

Especially with all the snow we've gotten lately!!

I must say that I am really over the whole holiday season stuff.  Frankly I think it starts too early every year and I just get burned out by the time its here.  Ah well, I have to change my view cause thats the only thing I can change!

I did get in a christmas spirit and made a couple last cards, they turned out pretty well if I do say so myself....... Since I think I am the only one who reads this blog, I guess I can say it!

Enjoy yourself wherever and what ever you may be doing!

random musings

Oh man, its been too long since I've updated!
I have thought about it everyday, but just not gotten around to it.
What have I been up to?  Just life itself.  Working on my cards and trying to market them & myself as a designer.  My sister got me into Facebook and that has proven to just suck the time away from me - seriously its an addiction!

so, I have been making cards too!  This is one of my recent favorites.  I don't remember who the alphabet is by, but its a clear set which makes it really easy to work with.

Great gift idea!

Thanks to Lisa Johnson of Poppy Paperie.  If you haven't visited her blog you should, her work is amazing.  I found this project there and decided to give it a try.  I am quite pleased with my results.  The back of each of the ovals is a magnet, punched from the freebie ones that you get in the mail and my husband insists on saving!  To remove the advertisement on the front I carefully pried up a  corner and then heated it with my heat gun to help me peel off the paper.  I created the monogram with my JustRite Stamper - I am seriously loving that product - and punched it out with my pink scallop punch from Marvy.  I computer generated the quote and used the same punch on that piece.  To try and make it a little more durable, I put paper glaze over both pieces before I glued them to the magnet.
Now that I have the hang of it all, I think these will make really great little gifts and we all know the holidays are coming!
enjoy!

bad blogger!

Sorry, I should be better about updating.......
here is a more springy image than my last one.
who wouldn't love to have a big basket of tulips like this?
the weather is coming around here for us, as always it is a slow but well worth it process.
I have to get out walking again.  I quit for the winter cause of the darkness and the ice on the paths, but its time now to get back at it.  It is such good therapy for me.
enjoy your weekend!

lots of cards

I have lots of cards to post, I have been stamping crazy lately!
this is from the SU sale a bration set Friendship Blooms.  I am really liking this set - its fun to work with.

smiley

this is a new stamp from Stampendous.  I love the smiley and the sentiment and I just had to have it.
the card itself if very basic.  The bg paper is a wonderful creamy gold/yellow.  I think its Bazill but I've had it so long I don't remember.
I sponged the edges of the white panel with SU More Mustard which matches nicely.  Inside is another white panel onto which I stamped some dots from the new Stampendous clear set Flourish Frames - I am loving that set!

a little serenity

I know I could use some.
this is from the MFT set, serenity now.
the image is colored with water and my watercolor crayons.  the sentiment is stamped on a piece of blue that matches the gals top, the color in the picture is off.
the background paper is what came free inside the latest Stampers Sampler Take Ten issue.

Hello!

Well, here is it, my first post and foray into the world of blogging.
I am a complete newbie so please have patience while I learn this stuff.
I will use this space to share my craft projects (card making mostly), thoughts and other pictures of what I find makes me happy. In turn I hope it will make you happy too.
about me - I am about to turn 43 years old. I live in the Twin Cities in MN and am quite frankly
sick of winter at the moment. To that end, I've turned my house decor over from winter to spring. That feels good! I'll try to share some pictures soon.
I enjoy making cards, I am not a demonstrator or designer for any of the stamp companies, but I love to work with them. My favorite companies are Stampin Up!, Hero Arts, and I recently got hooked on PaperTrey.
I have been married to the same wonderful man for 20 years now and its been a great adventure so far. We have one son who only adds to the adventure and two cats to complete our home.
So, for now thats me in a nutshell.
Make it a great day!
